Principal's Corner
Welcome to Orchard Ridge Elementary School! I am excited to join this school family as your principal this year. I look forward to seeing all the joyful learning taking place in our classrooms and building a community with staff, students, families, and community partners.
Orchard Ridge is a special place. This is truly a neighborhood school, most of our students can walk to school and we are able to develop strong partnerships with families and caregivers. We serve a diverse student population and engage all students by building positive relationships, setting and cultivating clear expectations, and providing opportunities and support for each student to reach their next level of learning. We are committed to provide equitable opportunities to empower students to be active participants in their school and community.
This year we will continue our work implementing literacy blocks based on the science of reading to increase student achievement and independence. In each classroom, instructional practices will be implemented that teach for equity to strengthen classroom communities where students belong and are developing skills of independence.
Finally, we know how important partnering with families is to foster the best educational experience for our students and increase the sense of community. Therefore, we will create opportunities to partner with families in regular, two-way, meaningful communication about learning so that student performance and successes can be shared. Feel free to contact us throughout the school year with feedback and questions. We value your input.
On behalf of all of the staff here at Orchard Ridge Elementary School, welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
